Introduced in 1959, the 356B represents significant advances in driveability and comfort over earlier 356 models, and is a pleasingly quick way to enjoy Porsche's traditional values of quality, reliability, and mechanical robustness. In August 1960 a new model joined the range: the hardtop coupé built by Karmann. This particular variant would turn out to be short-lived, production ceasing in June 1962 together with that of the roadster, though Karmann continued to build the regular coupé.
This rare Karmann-bodied hardtop coupé was delivered new in California, USA. Imported into Italy in 1995 and offered with its original Italian registration document, the car remained there until 2008 when it was bought by our vendor.

Dévoilée en 1959, la 356B affiche des évolutions significatives en termes de souplesse et de confort par rapport aux 356 précédents et s'avère être un moyen agréable et rapide d'apprécier les valeurs de qualité, de faibilité et de robustesse mécanique de Porsche. En août 1960 un nouveau modèle rejoignait la gamme, le coupé hardtop construit par Karmann. Cette version particulière allait être de courte durée, la production prenant fin en juin 1962 en même temps que celle du roadster, bien que Karmann continuât de produire le coupé de série.
Ce rare coupé hardtop à carrosserie Karmann a été livré neuf en Californie, aux États-Unis. Importée en Italie en 1995 et vendue avec son immatriculation italienne originale, la voiture est restée là-bas jusqu'en 2008 quand elle a été achetée par le vendeur.
