1971 APAL C Buggy
Chassis no. 116730285
Chassis no. 116730285
• Edmond Pery's short chassis beach buggy
• 1600cc VW engine, Porsche 356 gauges
•'Polar Silver' Porsche paint
• Comes with hardtop and doors
• Always resident in Belgium
* Please note that this car will be available for viewing by prior appointment in Belgium.
Founded by glass-fibre specialist, Edmond Pery, the Belgian manufacturer APAL (Application Polyester Armé de Liège) started producing cars in 1961 and is mainly known for its beach buggies and Porsche Speedster replicas. The 2+2 'Buggy C' is a shortened wheelbase version of the standard APAL Buggy and is built from glass-fibre on a VW Beetle chassis. The 'C' stands for 'Court' or short.
This fun car was bought by the current owner in 2015 from a Porsche collector and enthusiast. It is believed to have previously had two owners from the same family. It is powered by a 1600cc Volkswagen engine and equipped with a Stinger exhaust and Porsche 356 gauges. It has recently been resprayed in Porsche 'Polar Silver' and fitted with a new aluminium dashboard.
The car comes with a removable hardtop and doors, Belgian registration documents, an invoice from APAL dated 1978, and a Certificate of conformity dated 1971. Note: the Title suggests that the car is a 1966 model but we believe this refers to the age of the donor VW Beetle chassis.
