*Beautiful Humber 14/40 Doctor's Coupe
*Previously restored
*Good history file

Originally known for manufacturing bicycles after it was formed in 1887, Humber Limited reinvented itself in 1896 as a producer of high quality motor vehicles. Introduced in 1926 as the replacement to the 12/25, the Humber 14/40 was available in three body styles, with this "Doctor's Coupe" example being one of the more elegant styles with its 2+2 configuration.

Registered on 1 July 1927, the first registered owner in the log book is a Geoffrey Gilbert George of Oakham, Rutland. It is noted that the car stayed locally within Rutland until 1971, where the car was then sold to an Arthur Merryfield of Solihull. Remaining in Solihull until 1975, the car subsequently moved to the Isle of Man, possibly with a new owner. It then returned to the UK and was purchased by Roger Bentley Field for his private collection in Wetherby, before being acquired by the vendor's family in 2001.

The car has been restored, but the date of restoration is unknown (and whether it was before or during its time on the Isle of Man). The car has received very limited use since, and has been used sparingly by the father of the vendor.

The car has a low mileage of 56,425 miles but the engine currently does not run and will require recommissioning before being put back onto the road. The car has been dry stored, and can be easily moved. Overall the car is in good condition, but it could be brought up to a much higher standard by a new owner if desired.
