* Genuine Vauxhall works rally car
* Expertly prepared with period-correct classic and modern equipment
* Extensive period and recent competition history
Heralding Vauxhall's entry into the international rally scene, this VX 4/90 is one of three works supported cars that competed in the 1963/64 Monte Carlo, RAC, Tulip and Welsh rallies, and in the 1963 Rally of the Midnight Sun and 1963 Spa-Sofia-Liege.
In recent times, the car ran in the 1997/98/99 Monte Carlo Challenge, the 1998 Classic Marathon, the 200/02/04 Monte Carlo Historique, the 2003 Vauxhall Centenary 1000 mile trial, the 2005 Winter Trial, and the 2007 Rally of the Tests.
Its impeccable rally history qualifications are complemented by a FIVA Identity Card, RAC Competition Log Book, RAC Historic Rally Vehicle Identity Form, FIA Historic Vehicle Identity Form and a copy of its original homologation papers.
The engine was originally prepared by the Vauxhall tuning master Bill Blydenstein and it was refreshed by him in 1991.
Sold to a former apprentice of the works team in 1965, the car benefits from servo brakes, a limited slip differential, roll cage, rally seats, full harness belts and period Halda Twinmaster and modern Brantz Rallytimer instruments. With more than £100,000 of receipts on file during the current owners custodianship, this is an opportunity to acquire a proven and ready to rally car that, with its rich heritage, simply could not be reproduced - at any cost.
