This 16hp Darracq was delivered new to Ireland and supplied by Harry Ferguson Ltd of Belfast, whose supplier's plaque it still carries. Ferguson was an inventor, pioneer aviator, and motor dealer who played a key role in the development of the agricultural tractor and designed the first four-wheel drive Grand Prix racing car.

The car was found to be in exceptionally original condition when rescued for preservation by Malcolm Templeton and passed to new ownership around 1984. The interior was then reupholstered, the radiator rebuilt, and the engine professionally overhauled. In its new owner's hands this Darracq successfully completed the John o'Groats to Lands End trip of some 900-or-so miles. The preceding (lady) owner acquired the car as a gift from her husband in the late 1990s and during her ownership the car saw little use, although notably it completed the centenary re-enactment of the 1,000 Miles Trial in 2000, driven on that occasion by former Formula 1 World Champion, Phil Hill.

Now presented as a nicely matured restoration, the Darracq is equipped with C.A.V. electric lighting; folding windscreen and an Auster rear screen; Autovox pump-operated horn; A.T. 0-60mph speedometer; spare wheel; and good weather equipment including a practical two-piece tonneau cover and rear luggage carrier. Offered with French Carte Grise, the car is described by the vendor as in generally good condition throughout.

Cette 16 HP Darracq a été livrée neuve en Irlande et fournie par Harry Ferguson Ltd de Belfast dont elle porte encore la plaque. Ferguson était un inventeur, pionnier de l'aviation et concessionnaire automobile qui joua un rôle-clé dans le développement du tracteur agricole et conçut la première voiture de Grand Prix à quatre roues motrices.

La voiture se trouvait dans un exceptionnel état d'origine lorsqu'elle fut récupérée par Malcolm Templeton pour être préservée et passa dans de nouvelles mains vers 1984. L'intérieur a été regarni, le radiateur refait et le moteur révisé professionnellement. Avec son nouveau propriétaire, cette Darracq a accompli avec succès le voyage de John o'Groats à Lands End, soit près de 1 450 km. La précédente propriétaire a reçu la voiture en cadeau de son mari à la fin des années 1990 et a connu un usage parcimonieux entre ses mains, bien qu'elle ait notamment participé à la reconstitution du centenaire du 1000 Miles Trial en 2000, pilotée pour l'occasion par l'ancien Champion du monde de Formule 1, Phil Hill.

La Darracq se présente aujourd'hui dans une restauration joliment patinée, équipée d'éclairages C.A.V. d'un pare-brise repliable, d'un écran arrière Auster, d'un avertisseur à pompe Autovox, d'un compteur A.T. 0-60 mph, d'une roue de secours, d'une bonne protection aux intempéries, comprenant un couvre-tonneau en deux parties bien pratiques, et d'un porte-bagage arrière. Vendue avec sa carte grise française, la voiture est décrite par le vendeur comme étant en bon état général.
