Les fondateurs, Joseph Magnat et Louis Debon s'associèrent dans les années 1890 en vue de créer une fabrique de cycles dans leur ville natale, Grenoble. Adoptant un moteur De Dion, la firme produisit sa première moto en 1902. En 1905, lorsque les premiers types produits en quantité furent commercialisés, Magnat-Debon fabriquait ses propres moteurs. Ses motos affichaient de nombreuses innovations comme une suspension avant télescopique et des soupapes en tête. Magnat-Debon se développa au cours des années qui précédèrent la Grande Guerre. Mais les fondateurs moururent tous deux en 1918 et, au début des années 1920, Magnat-Debon fut cédée à l'industriel Alfred Turpillot qui fusionna la marque avec Terrot qu'il venait aussi d'acquérir. Cette 250 cm3 Magnat-Debon est décrite comme étant bien conservée dans son état d'origine, et fonctionnant bien. la machine est offerte avec ses anciens papiers d'immatriculation français.

Business partners Joseph Magnat and Louis Debon first came together in the 1890s, setting up a bicycle factory in their hometown of Grenoble. Using a De Dion Bouton engine, the firm built its first motorcycle in 1902. By 1905, when the first volume-produced models were offered for sale, Magnat-Debon was building its own power units. Its motorcycles incorporated many innovative features, such a telescopic front suspension and overhead valves, and Magnat-Debon prospered in the years leading up to WWI. However, both founders died in 1918 and in the early 1920s Magnat-Debon was sold to entrepreneur Alfred Turpillot, who merged the company with Terrot, another of his recent acquisitions. This 250cc Magnat-Debon is described as in generally well preserved and original condition, and is said to run well. The machine is offered with old French registration papers.
