The first sporting derivative of Honda's classic C100 Cub 'step-thru' - the C110 Sports Cub - appeared in October 1960. Unlike the Cub, the C110 was a proper small motorcycle, with spine frame and a more powerful version of the C100 motor. A 90cc version – the C200 – was added to the range for 1963. In 1964 an overhead-camshaft, all-alloy version of the Cub engine was introduced on the new CS90 sports. Sold as the 'S90' in the UK, the latter abandoned Honda's traditional leading-link front fork in favour of a telescopics, while a revised form of the spine frame and larger (18") wheels were adopted at the same time. Although it only produced 8bhp, the ultra-lightweight (191lbs) CS90 was surprisingly nippy and provided many a fortunate learner with his/her first taste of proper motorcycling. New for 1966, CL90 'street scrambler' variant featured an upswept exhaust system and gaiters on the front fork legs. Production of the CL90 continued until the end of 1970. There are no documents with this CL90, which is offered for restoration and sold strictly as viewed. The odometer reads 11,676 miles. No reserve.
