If this motorcycle looks like it stepped out of a showroom, that's because it essentially has – about 15 years ago! One of the first purpose-built Storz Performance street-trackers, this is believed to be the shop machine used in catalogs and for display on the show circuit. The bike's pristine overall condition and an odometer reading of just over 500 miles bears out that premise.
Steve Storz is a former Harley-Davidson factory flat-track mechanic, and he has used that experience to craft a series of stock Sportsters into very convincing and well-respected street-trackers. As befits its show duties, this particular bike has one of just about everything from the 1995 Storz Performance catalog, starting with a beautifully formed alloy 2.75-gallon fuel tank and fiberglass tailsection, both painted to replicate H-D's team bikes. Suspension was upgraded with a 55mm Ceriani inverted fork painted in satin black and a pair of billet aluminum Works Performance shocks. More alloy is evident in the Sun aluminum rims and rearset foot controls. Performance Machine brake calipers and rotors all-around mean this 883 stops as well as it goes. Signature component is the dual up-pipe exhaust running along the bike's right side. Sold with California personalized license plate XR883.
