Footnotes

When you're young life is all about having fun, hanging out with mates, going to gigs, etc. But for six young people every day in the UK, life is put on hold by cancer. Teenage Cancer Trust is a national charity dedicated to ensuring young people with cancer have the best quality of life and chances of survival.
Every year, long term Teenage Cancer Trust patron, Roger Daltrey CBE - lead singer of iconic rock band, The Who - helps organise concerts for Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall to raise money for a range of services designed to give young cancer sufferers the support they need. Since the concerts began in 2000, over £14 million has been raised to help fund Teenage Cancer Trust's life changing work.
Roger works tirelessly to ensure each line-up lives up to the same standard. Among those that have played are Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Oasis, Depeche Mode, Coldplay, Eric Clapton, The Cure, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Stereophonics, Kasabian, Suede, The Specials, Them Crooked Vultures, Biffy Clyro, Madness, Keane, Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, Editors, Goldfrapp, Bloc Party, Supergrass, Ash, Doves, Tom Jones, Jools Holland, Florence + the Machine, Razorlight and Richard Ashcroft.
Roger Daltrey said, 'Without teenagers and their energy and passion for music, we wouldn't have Rock 'n Roll as we know it. These gigs are my small way of giving something back. There is no doubt in my mind that we're really making a difference.'
Teenage Cancer Trust relies solely on donations to fund all of its vital work with young people with cancer; thus the sale of this very special Lotus represents a wonderful opportunity to own a unique example of this award-winning premium sports car while at the same time benefiting a most worthy cause.
This new Evora S 2+2 coupé has been personalised by Roger Daltrey himself and completed by a designted team at Lotus Cars dedicated to this very special project, which will be finished as a 2012 model. Hand trimmed by Lotus craftsmen, the interior is a unique bespoke design, featuring discrete references to The Who and 'Mod' culture in the form of red/white/blue embroidered roundels on the headrests, distinctive Union flags on the seat backs, etc. The exterior likewise features unique hand-painted graphics including Roger Daltrey's authenticating signature.
Launched in 2009, the all-new Evora is a very special, hand built and exclusive high-performance sports car, with production running at only 2,000 units per annum. Needless, to say, it combines the traditional Lotus qualities of leech-like roadholding and light, responsive handling with state-of-the-art automotive design. To its already class-leading specification, which includes a supercharged 345bhp 3.5-litre V6 engine, the Roger Daltrey Evora S adds extra-cost options consisting of an IPS (Intelligent Precision Shift) six-speed gearbox, Tech Pack, Premium Pack Sports, power-fold mirrors, reversing camera, heated seats, metallic paint and Design Diamond-Cut forged alloy wheels, bringing the total value of the vehicle up to around £74,000.
In bringing together Lotus Cars and The Who, this unique Evora embodies the spirit of two of Great Britain's most internationally respected and admired brands that first rose to international prominence in their respective fields during the 1960s and continue to set the standard to this day.
