A prototype Spirit of Ecstasy mascot,

in the late 1960s, car manufacturers in the U.K. an U.S.A. were given notice that rigid radiator top mounted mascots were to be banned on safety grounds, whilst Bentley, Jaguar and others adopted a flush mounted badge, Rolls-Royce eventually introduced a tilting Spirit of Ecstasy mascot, before this introduction, they considered a mascot which was to be recessed into the radiator top, this is the mock-up prototype.
